For the ten months between June, 2023 and March, 2024, prolific, award winning and Hall Of Fame inducted singer-songwriter Bill Ludwig spent every moment of his free time writing and recording songs. This effort has now resulted in his most ambitious project to date: 100 Songs.

With a head start of 70 +/- tunes in the archive, Bill wrote another 30 songs and enlisted several friends to appear throughout this epic journey:

- Christian Loftus (Danny Wisdom, Folding Time)
- Dan Thompson (Gone Gone Away)
- Liz Reed (Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder)
- Victor Flores (The Old Bare Maple)
- Jon Tarbox (Skin And Bone And Suede, Fixin To Break)
- Ryan Konopka (Learning How To Breathe Again)

Presented in the order the songs were recorded, 100 Songs is a diverse collection of styles and genres: blues, folk, rock, bluegrass, psychedelic Americana and roots songs are woven throughout this massive collection.

The songs included here represent a full clearing of Bill's unreleased songs, some dating back as far as 2007 with others as new as having been written in March, 2024 - weeks before the album is planned for release.

A 10 CD box set is scheduled for release in May, 2024.

Rhymes With Banjo

Bill Ludwig

"I've got a confession to make. Songs Of Village Charm isn't the album I wanted to make next. But with 2023 being my towns bicentennial, it was the best time to release a set of Troubadour songs.

No, I really wanted to get out the set of tunes I wrote on the used banjo I picked up over the summer. These songs just flew out of me while writing.

No, I really wanted to get out the set of tunes I wrote on the used banjo I picked up over the summer. These songs just flew out of me while writing. And when I got in front of the mic to record them they flowed like rolling water. They just poured out.

The first note for this album was plucked out on January 28th, 2023 (four days after the release of Songs Of Village Charm). On April 9th I finished the mix. Ten weeks. I'm pretty sure that's a record for me.

I'm really excited for you to hear these songs. They're heartfelt, sincere, honest and fun... It's the best of everything I do, as well as I can do it.

I'll also tell you my dear friend Christian Loftus is all over it. He added some lovely instrumentation that really elevates the whole thing."

~ Bill, 4/16/2023

Besides singing songs to his chickens, singer-songwriter Bill Ludwig has spent the past 5 months of quarantine learning to play the mandolin he bought in September, 2020. Instead of taking lessons or following Youtube videos or something sensible like that, Bill decided to plunk away and write a set of songs.

The resulting album features the first 10 songs wrote on this 'new to him' instrument. The challenge here was to write compelling music with limited ability to play the primary instrument - forcing Bill to rely on strong lyrics, vocal melodies and vocal harmonies.

Recorded in Bill's home studio and entirely self-produced, "Beautiful" is a stripped down and raw album whose creation put Bill's songwriting ability to the test.

Award-winning singer-songwriter Bill Ludwig brings us another collection of fun, heartfelt, family-friendly songs full of rich imagery and wonderful performances. Written and recorded prior to the pandemic, Bill had a desire to release a set of positive tunes in troubled times. With live performances cancelled and little ability to directly support the project with appearances, Bill has postponed this release. But with the election result and the promise of soon-to-be released vaccines, the time is right to add to the wave of optimism many are feeling currently.

Persuading Records is proud to present Bill Ludwig - Kind.

The long-awaited double album from award-winning singer-songwriter Bill Ludwig - one half all original kid's music, one half family-friendly singer-songwriter folk music. Twenty-four songs in all! In between projects with his Americana trio, MARMO, Bill has been writing and recording this expansive album of fun and silly children's music backed with a set of introspective and oft politically charged songs.

With frequent appearances by MARMOs Christian Loftus and Dan Thompson as well as a guest vocal by world-renowned opera star (and Bill's sister) Hannah Ludwig, Big Songs/Small Songs is a huge album you can easily lose yourself in.

The first twelve songs, 'Big Songs For Small People', opens with a high energy tune about a way too big action figure collection, is followed by songs about toast, werewolves, narwhals, ice cream and flying saucers before sliding into the sleepy lullaby that is Daydreamer.

The second half, 'Small Songs For Big People', contains songs about love and loss, yearning and hope, recollection and perseverance. It's a powerful set of tunes, often with good humor and joy but sometimes heavily laden with message.

Written, produced, mixed and mastered by Bill (who also created all of the album art!). Big Songs For Small People & Small Songs For Big People is a project built with love. We are sure you will love it too.

one hundred miles of bad road is dedicated to the men and women who risk their lives each and every day around our earth to protect those who are oppressed, to fight for those who are powerless, to expose and hold accountable proponents of hatred, to free those who are wrongly imprisoned, to strengthen those who are weak, to be a light for those who live in darkness, to stand up for those who are scared and to bring those who support the use of terror as an instrument of change to justice."
